The SparkFund team are recruiting

The SparkFund Team are looking to recruit a new Innovation Manager.

This position is fixed term for the duration of the SparkFund programme and is currently due to end in March 2022.

The University of Hull has secured £10 million funding from the European Regional Development Fund to innovation and R&D support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the York, North Yorkshire, East Riding (YNYER) and Humber region. The funding, in the form of Innovation Vouchers and Grants for R&D, will benefit SMEs across a range of industry sectors through research and innovation in products, processes and services, and to develop new business opportunities. Funding will also be available to support low carbon projects.

The existing team includes a Programme Manager, three Innovation Managers, two Finance and Audit Officers and an administrator. We are seeking to recruit one additional Innovation Manager. This post will be based with the current team at the University of Hull in the Research and Enterprise department, although the role will cover the YNYER and Humber Local Economic Partnership (LEP) areas, so travel will be essential.

The Innovation Manager will work directly with SMEs across the two LEP areas. This work will include: proactively engaging beneficiaries; leading a diagnostic process; supporting SMEs in action planning and project development to secure grant assistance; supporting SMEs to procure delivery agents; key account management as SME projects are implemented; and evaluating outcomes.
